On December 14, the signing ceremony on the cooperation between China Grand Enterprises (“CGE”) and Shenyang Pharmaceutical University (“SPU”) on the development of the third-batch new drugs covered by the Innovative Drug Development Fund of SPU was held in Grand Bay Hotel Beijing, which was attended by the top management of CGE and the main leaders of SPU, including its president and vice president.

CGE and SPU jointly set up the Seed Fund for Innovative Drugs in 2012. With their in-depth cooperation, two projects have been successfully incubated, helping to realise the effective collaboration among enterprises, universities and research institutes, provide  high value-added innovative products to boost corporate development, and accumulate rich experience in fund management and project screening.

In order to give full play to the university’s advantages in drug innovation and the enterprise’s strengths in product industrialization, the top leaders of the two parties, from the perspective of the strategic trend of pharmaceutical innovation and industrial development, agreed to upgrade the school enterprise "Seed Fund for Innovative Drugs” to "Innovation and Development Fund” for the purpose of not only carrying out the all-round cooperation in new drug development, new molecular customization and  key technology breakthroughs in production and R & D for  the enterprise, but also conducting personnel training for their seamless cooperation in the future.

At the signing ceremony, the representatives from CGE and SPU signed the project cooperation agreement for the development of the third-batch new drugs covered by the Fund. After the ceremony, the two parties made impressive academic presentations on the education in universities, the R&D policies of new drugs and PEGylated nanocarriers, and the development and industrialization of liposome preparation.
